Opportunity Details


For dedicated IG Credit portfolios, monitor the cash position including overdrafts; handle operational issues around portfolio transitions and work with Compliance on portfolio maintenance. Support IG Credit trading activities including ticketing and pre-clearing trades; work with product Portfolio Managers and Analysts on transition issues related to IG Credit allocations of their portfolios. Support IG Credit research team downgrade process including input of investment opinion and write-ups into the WA business process management tool, BPM. Pre-clear through Compliance Corporate Actions in IG Credit securities.


Portfolio surveillance and maintenance

  • Monitor portfolio cash flows.
  • Monitor Compliance Portfolio Coverage report.
  • Prepare trades to cover overdraft and coverage issues.
  • Prepare and review daily reports to monitor dedicated IG Credit portfolios within their style peer group.
  • Identify outliers; in time, suggest remediation strategies.
  • Review daily Compliance reports for action items.
  • Communicate maintenance trades to Portfolio Managers.
  • Monitor benchmark changes and sector strategy shifts; anticipate implications for portfolio structure; communicate with Portfolio Manager regarding changes.
  • Review monthly performance attributions; raise issues with Portfolio Managers.
  • Work with Compliance to implement guideline transitions
  • Coordinate orderly account closings and liquidations
  • Communicate fund orders to Trade Operations team.

Trade support

  • Responsible for pre-trade compliance workflow, including trade entry, allocations and hedge calculations.
  • Obtain Portfolio Manager and or Client Service approval where required.
  • Ensure that trades are posted timely, meeting all Settlements team and market deadlines.
  • Understand trade objectives and complete allocations as instructed.
  • Monitor downgrade sell list and ensure that sector traders are aware of deadlines.
  • Size maintenance trades to manage portfolio cashflows, duration, etc.
  • Monitor status of analytic, rate and pricing data within systems, specifically trading system tools, reports, cash management system, benchmark and data warehouse; escalate issues appropriately.
  • Support extensive bid list trading where required.
  • Support Corporate Actions workflow to preclear voluntary actions.

Research Team support

  • Coordinate completion of BPM tasks.
  • Follow up on documentation requests for ERISA review.


  • Responsible for pre-trade compliance workflow.
  • Responsible for night cycle batch compliance workflow.
  • Appropriately facilitate IG Credit team’s reviews of proposed guidelines for new accounts and account transitions.

Investment Support and Accounting

  • Respond to audit inquiries for Funds.
  • Assist in book value, book yield and other accounting related questions that arise.

Client Service

  • Facilitate team’s response to client requests.
  • Monitor our BPM for account transition tasks.

Support Investment Team objectives with other WA teams

  • Work with Risk/Analytics on a wide range of topics not limited to portfolio risk assessment
  • Provide feedback to the Security Master Team regarding security classification, capital structure, legal status, domicile, etc.
  • Provide feedback, as required, to Pricing team.
  • Propose ideas for reports and tool enhancements.
  • Participate in quality assurance and release testing with Technology department.


3-5 years of relevant work experience, quantitative work preferred
Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving ability
Excellent financial, mathematical and statistical skills
Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Access
Solid knowledge of a  major programming language, i.e. Visual Basic
Able to work and communicate with all levels within the organization
Able to work in a high stress environment

Academic Qualifications (minimum requirements):
Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, i.e. Mathematics, Science or Engineering; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) encouraged.
