Overview

  • Ensure Western Asset is accurately and most advantageously represented in all relevant external databases by overseeing the quantitative and qualitative data production processes, managing relationships with database providers and establishing repeatable and efficient internal review processes.
  • Enhance the competitor/prospect/client analytics program at Western Asset to support sales efforts and new product development.
  • Create scalable solutions to disseminate info on industry trends and competitive landscape by leveraging internal and
    3rd party technologies and collaborating with multiple departments and or parent company Legg Mason.
  • Support the Executive Team with industry and market share insights to inform current and future business strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Manage all processes/interfaces associated with external competitor and consultant databases to ensure data accuracy
    (both qualitative and quantitate)
  • Manage and produce competitor research to assist Product Strategists/CSEs with product positioning/messaging
  • Identify industry trends and review with key internal leadership for new product planning / product rationalization
  • Develop data platform/format to accurately capture key competitor information and communicate to internal constituents
  • Assist Product Strategists with discussions with Client Service & Marketing Executives and Portfolio Managers regarding competitive positioning of key products
  • Manage all processes/interfaces to ensure that the new Product data set is represented correctly in the new CRM system
  • Ongoing management of product data to ensure accurate representation in reports, RFP responses, etc.
  • Interface with various departments to ensure Product information is correctly represented both internally and externally
  • Assist Head of Product Management to ensure that individual performance measurement metrics align with Product AUM raise goals and desired behaviors
  • Produce ad-hoc database queries / competitive analysis (i.e., Lipper, eVestment, Morningstar)


Qualifications

  • Manage interdepartmental projects and efforts
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization capabilities to manage a variety of different efforts, projects and requests
  • Strong conceptual, structural and analytical skills. Ability to identify key issues in complex matters and to articulate
    insights – the “so what” of the analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – the ability to effectively identify and convey the insights.
  • Must be a team player able to pitch in where there is a need.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and able to prioritize projects and tasks
  • Proficient in eVestment and Morningstar databases and Microsoft Office applications. Programming experience a plus.

Academic Qualifications (minimum requirements):


 ▪     B.A. or B.S. in a related field. Master’s degree desired.

▪      Achievement of CFA level 1 exam (minimally), and the intent to achieve CFA designation highly desired.

▪      3-7 years of relevant experience.
