The MBS (Mortgage Backed Securities) Trader/Research Analyst position will be the primary trader for Agency MBS and will support the Lead MBS Portfolio Manager.  Through collaboration, intellectual curiosity and creativity, this individual will contribute ideas to the broader team. The successful individual will be able to work in a team environment with the ability to build relationships quickly both internally and externally




  • Execute MBS trades as part of Agency MBS team, and larger Structured Products team
  • Research and develop investment ideas within Agency MBS and related markets
  • Work with primary PM to understand, follow and implement portfolio strategies
  • Work with Client Service, as needed, to communicate portfolio strategies, construction, results, and market color
  • Prepare complex financial analyses and pricing models
  • Provide analysis and reporting for special asset types
  • Develop and maintain broker relationships in the Agency MBS space



  • Undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in related field, MBA and/or CFA designation preferred, including courses in finance, economics, business and/or accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of fixed income securities or secondary mortgage markets in a financial or risk based role
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in MBS trading and/or research experience including Corporate Finance, commercial real estate credit or private equity experience including principles of securitization, an commercial real estate valuation including appraisal methodologies
