  • Overview

    Individual will be responsible for supporting REIT Reverse Repo operations, cash reconciliation, and related cash control processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordination of instruction, settlement, and reconciliation of complex repurchase agreement trade activity in REIT products
    • Calculation and instruction of pair-off/wire amounts related to repo activity in REIT products
    • Firm understanding of margin calls for repo and coordination with collateral team to resolve discrepancies
    • Tracking and calculating cash thresholds while working with internal partners to ensure compliance
    • Communicating with internal departments, brokers, and custodians to facilitate the resolution of all time sensitive cash issues
    • Work with IT to continually automate and improve upon existing processes and enhancements to WA proprietary systems
    • Other duties will include some or all of the following:
      • Communication to the trading desk of all cash deficient portfolios on a daily basis
      • Verification of cash flows in accounts and communicating to various internal departments
      • Research and resolve principal and interest payment breaks between WA and Custodian
      • Confirmation, allocation, instruction, and settlement of all Repo trades executed by the Cash Desk
      • Daily calculation of available investable date cash for all Repo eligible accounts
      • Verification of collateral minimum standard requirements and margin level
      • Weekly maintenance of STIF rates database

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years fixed income operations experience
    • Thorough understanding of Repo (and all fixed income securities) trade settlements and activity
    • Possesses advanced MS Excel skills with exposure/understanding of macro writing
    • Understanding the features of different securities across various sectors of the fixed income market
    • Must be professional, detail-oriented, organized, and proactive
    • Possess the ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure, team environment
    • Ability to multi-task and absorb information quickly
    • Ability to work independently on projects as well as in a team environment, flexible/adaptable
    • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Prior Bloomberg experience
    • Undergraduate degree in related field, MBA a strong plus
