The ESG Research Analyst will monitor ESG data and news for issuers, provide support for the firm’s ESG research efforts, work with other internal teams to develop capabilities and processes, and assist in the development of Investment Management (IM) tools and marketing materials. The analyst will help to develop the firm’s value proposition and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership in ESG.
Conduct surveillance of ESG issues
Ø Monitor third-party vendor data, news and credit research
Ø Provide appropriate reports on issuer and industry ESG issues
Provide analysis and support for ESG client reports and research
Ø Perform quantitative analysis for client ESG reports
Ø Facilitate responses to ESG-related client requests and RFPs
Ø Support Research Analysts by conducting industry and issuer ESG analysis
Ø Facilitate and participate in ESG engagement with issuers
Collaborate with other internal teams to develop Western Asset’s ESG capabilities
Ø Work with Technology, Legal and Client Services to develop ESG reporting and compliance functions
Ø Participate in quality assurance and release testing
Ø Work with Risk/Analytics on ESG performance attributions and portfolio risk/return assessment
Work on product development and marketing initiatives
Ø Create model ESG portfolios and related presentation content.
Ø Contribute to ESG thought leadership.
