  • Overview

    A ten week internship program designed to provide valuable career experience for students who wish to apply their education and skills in a fixed-income-oriented work environment.   This is an intensive program that mirrors the responsibilities of an entry level position within the Firm. Participants get on-the-job training as well as technical and business-oriented education. Enterprise Solutions is charged with designing solutions that address the underlying causes of complexity and increase capacity and scale.  Housing dedicated teams to optimize specific workflows that currently detract from our ability to increase capacity and scale. 

     

    Enterprise Data Management will:

    • Provide governance and enterprise data management standards to the firm.
    • Implement data governance, stewardship and quality control where data is mostly dependent upon external sources and data is relied upon by multiple functions.
    • House the SMF, Pricing, Benchmarks and Business Reporting Function, that relies on external and internal data sets that do not have strong governance.
    • Apply its “Focused Optimization Process” to all data so that data becomes as “asset” for enhanced decision making

     

    Responsibilities

    • It is the responsibility of the EDM Intern to help maintain the accuracy of pertinent internal and external sources of data including security reference, pricing, issuer, benchmark and AUM related information.
    • The intern candidate should be capable of completing ad-hoc analysis or small projects with relative independence, including communication with other departments including Risk, Investment Management and Client Service.
    • Generate reports for monitoring quality of data across various domains. Review processes and recommend enhancements where appropriate.
    • Interact with consumers of data throughout the firm including Compliance, Operations, Risk, Investment Team and research and respond to questions about specific data, data sources and/or procedures

     

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge and/or experience with the following types of data would be a plus; Security Characteristics, Ratings, Pricing, Benchmarks, AUM.
    • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills.
    • High level of proficiency with Excel, Access and SQL (preferred).
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Student with a proven record of academic excellence and achievement. Candidates should be in the process of completing a 4 year degree in finance, business administration, economics or a related major.
